Daniel Deshays
Daniel Deshays (1950) is a French sound engineer, director, and writer known for his work in theatre, film, and music. Since 1974, Deshays has conceived, produced and directed sound for film, theatre, TV, dance, art exhibitions, studio recordings, and site-specific installations, collaborating with directors like Chantal Akerman and Philippe Garrel. His books include, Entendre le cinéma (2010), Pour une écriture du son (2006), Sous l’avidité de mon oreille: le paradigme du sonore (2018), Libertés d’écoute: le son, véhicule de la relation (2023), and De l’écriture sonore: essai (1999).
