Co-founder of the magazine Débordements, Romain Lefebvre is a film critic and university lecturer. He has written a thesis on the South-Korean filmmaker Hong Sang-soo and his research interests include the relationship between cinema and belief, the dialectic of image and reality, and the relationship between aesthetics and politics. He has participated in several collective works: Documenter une présence au monde. Le cinéma de Johan Van der Keuken (Yellow Now, 2020), Richard Linklater, cinéaste du moment (Post-édition, 2019), Les Variations Hong Sang-soo (De l’incidence, 2018). He is a regular contributor to Cahiers du Cinéma.
