From 8 to 17 May, TIFF Cinematheque in Toronto presents a retrospective dedicated to Portuguese filmmakers António Reis and Margarida Cordeiro, marking the beginning of a wider North American rollout following Cinema Guild’s recent acquisition of their work, with restorations and digitisation carried out by the Cinemateca Portuguesa.

From 4 April to 23 May, CINEMATEK, in collaboration with Another Gaze journal, presents ‘Let Cinema Go to Its Ruin: The Cinema of Marguerite Duras’, a major retrospective dedicated to one of the most singular voices in modern cinema.

From March 13 to April 11, 2026, Metrograph and The Theater of the Matters present Boris Barnet, A Soviet Poet, a month-long retrospective dedicated to the boxer-turned-filmmaker Boris Barnet. On the occasion of the retrospective, a selection of related texts is published on The Theater of the Matters’ website.

A major retrospective dedicated to Dutch filmmaker and photographer Johan van der Keuken begins at Filmoteca de Catalunya in Barcelona. Running through the end of April, the programme offers a wide survey of his work.
