Rosanne Claes

Rosanne Claes (1992) is currently finishing her Master of Visual Arts at KASK / School of Arts Ghent. She obtained a Master at the Institute of Philosophy at the KU Leuven with a dissertation on Georg Simmel's metaphysics and philosophy of culture. In the past she conducted interviews for the fashion journal 1 Granary and the Belgian museum journal Documenten & Argumenten, in the context of Koen Brams’ The Mobile and Temporary Studio for Research and Production. She is co-founder of embobada, a small exhibition and concert space.

Een kleurrijke passe-partout met het opschrift Summer, 1903 opent de weg naar een pittoresk uitzicht. In een keurige straat, omgeven door tuinen van helgroen gras, trekken koetsen voorbij en spelen kinderen blij hun spel. We zijn beland in Vincente Minnelli’s Meet Me in St. Louis. Uit de knusse keuken van de familie Smith weerklinkt een discussie over ketchup: “Best ketchup we ever made, Katie.” “Too sweet.” “Mr. Smith likes it on the sweet side.” Zo begint een stroom aan huiselijke beslommeringen en banale liefdesperikelen.
