In memory of Chantal Akerman, born on 6 June 1950, we present in our Screening Room, in collaboration with CINEMATEK and the Fondation Chantal Akerman, the video recording of a conversation between André Delvaux and Chantal Akerman. Recently rediscovered and digitised, this interview took place on 26 January 1996 on the sidelines of the Film Festival Brussels, as part of the Leçons de cinéma organised by the Association des Réalisateurs et Producteurs de Films (ARPF).
Warm and generous, Delvaux questions Akerman about her work, with particular attention given to her film Un divan à New York (1996), which had its world premiere at the festival on 20 January 1996.
