Classics Restored Festival 2022

Starting from March 3rd, the annual Classics Restored Festival returns with a selection of recently restored films. This year, the festival makes stops in four different Belgian cinema’s, namely Cine Rio (Ghent), KASKcinema (Ghent), De Cinema (Antwerp) and Buda (Kortrijk), spread over two consecutive weekends (March 4-6 and 11-13). Courtisane filmfestival, Art Cinema OFFoff, Ciné Rio, filmclub Kinoautomat and Kuru each were invited to propose a different film. As is the case each year, every film will be introduced by various experts to shed light on the unique (material) history of the films and their restoration. The festival kicks off in collaboration with Cine Rio, showing Putney Swope (Robert Downey Sr., 1967). On the schedule are Accatone (Pier Paolo Pasolini, 1961), The Moon Has Risen (Kinuyo Tanaka, 1955), Women in Love (Ken Russell, 1969), Radio On (Christopher Petit, 1979), Queen of Diamonds (Nina Menkes, 1991), and many more.
