De snelheid 40-70
Johan van der Keuken,
1970,
25’
Asked to contribute to the commemoration of the end of World War II and the German occupation, Johan van der Keuken, born in 1938, refuses to use film archives to make a film about the past. While interviewing an Auschwitz survivor, he thinks back to the war using images from the present, in a relentlessly clear observation of today's reality. The poet Gerrit Kouwenaar collaborated on the screenplay.
