2. City Portraits

While studying film in Paris, van der Keuken shot the city portrait Paris à l’aube (1957) with fellow students James Blue and Derry Hall. Once he returned to Amsterdam, he portrayed the city and its inhabitants differently each time. This short film programme presents a selection of these early works situated in his beloved hometown.
