An International Programme Celebrating Pere Portabella

On the occasion of the centenary of filmmaker and political activist Pere Portabella, Filmoteca Española and Filmoteca de Catalunya are organising 'Acción Portabella', a series of activities throughout 2026 and 2027, originating from a wide range of institutions.

Through screenings, talks, lectures and exhibitions, this international celebration carries forward Pere Portabella’s vital, political, and artistic message: a drive towards dialogue, courage, and the centrality of the avant-garde, together with his proverbial tenacity in generating consensus, provocation, movement, and transmission.
