French actor and director François Leterrier has passed away at the age of 91. In 1956, he played the key role in Robert Bresson's Un condamné à mort s’est échappé ou Le vent souffle où il veut, as the prison escapee Fontaine. After a minor role in Alain Resnais's Stavisky (1974) he turned to filmmaking, making a name in the world of the French comedy. He was married to the French costume designer Catherine Leterrier.
