Hong Sangsoo Collection on Avila

Recently Belgian streaming platform and distributor Avila presented a new collection dedicated to one of contemporary cinema’s most distinctive voices: South Korean filmmaker Hong Sangsoo. Spanning 2011–2022, the four films playfully intertwine themes of desire, deception, love and regret, tracing subtle variations on recurring stories and inviting us to look at everyday encounters in new ways. The collection also marks a new chapter for Avila’s VOD catalogue, expanding beyond its focus on Belgian auteur cinema to include kindred filmmakers from around the world and reveal connections across cinematic landscapes. The collection is available to stream on Avila in Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden, and through Cinébib for library users in Flanders and Brussels.
