Jonas Mekas, 100 Years of Cinema, Arts, and Politics

To celebrate the 100th anniversary of Jonas Mekas, Arsenal is hosting a program about Mekas’s work this month, addressing the political dimensions of his oeuvre. Several panels will be held with filmmakers, artists and like-minded peers to explore different facets of his work. In addition, a program with political video works by Mekas will be screened. The program will also be expanded on the digital platform arsenal 3 with films by Chantal Akerman and Sergei Loznitsa, alongside other films by Mekas.
