James Naremore. News and Writings

Film theorist, critic and historian James Naremore has joined the internet. In a well-organized website he will be publishing “essays or lectures that haven’t appeared elsewhere, plus old journal articles, film reviews, and out-of-print books.” Along with these, there are interviews, notes, news and recommendations to be found. His texts cover filmmakers from Vincente Minnelli to Charles Burnett; the selection of works published on the website also includes an early book on Virginia Woolf.

Last year, Sabzian published James Naremore’s text ‘Minnelli, the Aesthete in the Factory’. His book on film noir for Oxford’s Very Short Introduction series will be published in February, 2019.
